Physical Therapy

Ideal if you are experiencing: muscle or joint pain, muscle soreness and injury, post-surgical conditions and balance issues

At MOSS Rehabilitation, we do physical therapy a bit differently. We don’t work off of templates or pre-planned programs. We work alongside you to learn about your unique condition, pain, and symptoms. Then, we custom design a program for you that will get you back to living the life you want. Our Hands On Care (yes, that’s right: we massage, stretch, and evaluate our patients through physical touch… which isn’t standard for many physical therapists) improves blood flow, helps with proper diagnosis, and reduces pain.

Not only will we create a physical therapy program designed around you and your needs, but we also ensure to provide you with quality education for your long-term health.

Dry Needling

Ideal if you are experiencing: tendonitis, overuse injuries, post-surgical pain, chronic pain, headaches, and muscle stiffness/tension

The process of dry needling involves inserting small and very fine needles into various muscles & trigger points in the body. Don’t worry! It might sound scary, but this procedure reduces pain in the long run. Our trained and licensed physical therapists identify trigger points, muscle knots, and areas of extreme tension. Then, the needle will be inserted into those areas, which triggers the release of pain relief chemicals in the body and works to reduce the tension in that particular area.

Dry needling results in decreased muscle pain & tension, increased mobility & muscle contraction, and can aid in recovery from injury, surgery, or other pain conditions.

Deep Tissue Laser

Ideal if you are experiencing: a variety of conditions which cause pain including but not limited to joint pain from injury or arthritis, acute or chronic neck or lower back pain

After a proper, hands-on diagnosis with our professional therapists, one form of therapy that allows us to leverage state-of-the-art technology for certain conditions is deep tissue laser therapy. In the body, muscles form different layers. Some muscles — and injuries of those muscles — are close to the surface of the skin and are easily massaged or manipulated. Other sources of pain are deep down and really hard to get at!

With deep tissue laser therapy, light energy enters deep muscle tissue to trigger cellular metabolism that decreases pain and inflammation. Treatments can be customized as lasers can be set from 0.5W up to 25W. It’s a fast treatment — just five to 10 minutes. The result is that you feel better faster so you can get back to normal. And patients feel good after.

Spinal Decompression

Ideal if you are experiencing: back & neck pain, sciatica, bulging discs

Our spinal decompression therapy is a non-invasive procedure that uses a specially-designed table in order to naturally stretch the spine. How does it do this? First, it relieves pressure that can lead to a number of beneficial effects for the discs, nerves and joints, bones, and muscles in the back and spine. This can help reduce inflammation & pain. Second, the positioning on the traction table allows healing compounds and nutrients to reach all parts of the back/spine, which aids the healing process and reduces pressure on the nerves.

The result is decreased pain in the back, neck, legs, arms, and head, reduced muscle tension, increased mobility, and improved joint health… just to name a few.

Blood Flow Restriction

Ideal if you are experiencing: strength and muscle loss, aching or swelling following an injury or surgery. aching or swollen extremities, muscle atrophy, or muscle weakness

Injuries, pain, inflammation, and various physical conditions can lead to strength and muscle loss, often quite dramatic. Strength and muscle loss, if not corrected, can lead to other problems such as chronic pain, falls and not being able to live the life you want. Enter blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy. Using specially designed equipment, restriction therapy works by compressing and adding pressure to muscles in the arms or legs while the client performs specific exercises. This results in specific chemicals building up in the muscles to aid in reducing pain and improving strength.

BFR reduces inflammation, improves strength, muscle mass and decreases pain allowing you to recover quicker and get back to normal.
