Attention: Men & Women Over 65 Years Old
How To Stay Out Of A Nursing Home - FOREVER
Working with seniors over many years it has become apparent that the greatest common fear is the fear of falling. This is not unreasonable as 1/3 of all adults over 65 will fall this year and each fall is potentially life changing.
Falls often lead to hospitalizations, serious injury or the need for assisted living of some sort. In the most severe cases a fall can lead to death.
If the fall, injury and hospitalization isn’t bad enough, frequent falls lead to loss of independence, limits in your daily activities, and increase your reliance on friends and family members to complete basic everyday tasks. How humiliating is it to ask someone to get your groceries or drive you to the doctors office?
How Long Will You Live? Ignorance About Taking Care Of Yourself Can Be The Mistake That Kills You In Your 50’s Or 60’s...The Dangerous Years
Are you afraid of falling and losing your independence?
Have you considered doing “something” about it but haven’t taken any action?
It's ok, most people think that falling and losing their balance is just part of growing older.
If not you, then are you afraid a loved one may fall?
With the right information and the right guidance many falls can be prevented, keeping you out of the hospital and Nursing Homes.
Ask yourself the following questions:
Do you want to spend time in a nursing home?
Do you feel unsteady when you walk or get up from a chair or bed?
Do you feel like a burden to those around you because you need to hold on to someone when you walk?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions (or have a stubborn spouse or parent who is in denial) you need to take action NOW to prevent a fall and not wait until you fall to address the problem!
You don’t have to live in fear of falling. You can take steps to improve your balance, making it safer for you to do the things you want to do more independently AND stay out of the nursing home.
