“Cast of Characters”

At MOSS Rehabilitation Center, our purpose is clear: to change the lives of everyday people by quickly getting them out of pain to help them recover from an injury or surgery. We go beyond medical care at MOSS. Our specialists will offer world-class, hands-on care AND provide you with a quality education about your condition. This will allow you to maintain your health long after you make your first visit here. Our goal is to help you reduce medication usage as much as possible, while focusing on non-invasive and state-of-the-art therapeutic practices to produce results.

We meet three criteria you are not so likely to find in other physical therapy clinics. First, we provide hands-on services. Whatever some folks might say, you can’t direct patients to heal themselves. Second, our physical therapists are highly certified with advanced degrees. Years of study — and experience — have put us in a position to find the right diagnosis and treat it properly. Lastly, we use the latest technologies to serve our patients. This includes deep tissue laser therapy and more to decrease your pain and speed up your recovery.

Lastly, at MOSS, we subscribe to a seven-point value system that describes the ethos here. We bring these values to every client interaction, whether it’s over the phone talking to you for the first time, you’re a familiar face around the office, or whether it’s with one another among our team! We believe MOSS is a ‘MAGICAL’ place, which is why we live by these values:

  • Making a difference
  • Attitude
  • Gratitude
  • Integrity
  • Customer service
  • Attention to detail
  • Leadership

He graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1998 and from the Doctorate of Sciences Program in Physical Therapy in 2007 (ScD). Dr. Moss is a certified orthopedic specialist (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Fellowship trained in orthopedic manual therapy (FAAOMPT). Dr. Moss certified with the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine-United States (IAOM-US) in 2002 and teaches continuing education courses for physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers across the United States. Dr. Moss is a Board Member for the Springtown Chamber of Commerce and current President. His hobbies include spending time with his family, cycling and learning to play the guitar.

Character Traits

Although I don’t really have a Seinfeld name I guess I would be “Jerry.” I am serious at times, have a dry sense of humor and have a wonderful group of friends that I work with. I love to laugh and get the biggest kick out of the stories I hear in the clinic and from my kids at home. I actually have a Klein mountain bike hanging in my garage similar to the one hanging up in Jerry’s apartment.

Dr. Craig Griebel
PT, DPT
(Physical Therapist)

Dr. Craig Griebel received his doctorate of physical therapy from Texas Tech in 2014. He loves treating all conditions but especially loves treating the kids that come through MOSS’ doors — perhaps because he is just a big kid himself. He is originally from Amarillo, Texas but currently is happy to live in Springtown. He is married to his beautiful wife Holly and just had his first child, Conrad, born in February 2020. He is involved in his local church, leading the college and career group as well as playing in the worship band. He also enjoys sports (especially fantasy football) and hiking in his free time.

Character Traits

It didn’t take me long to come up with several different “characters” that Craig reminded me of. He is married now so his diet of “candy, candy cane, candy corn and syrup” have changed slightly but he still enjoys a dip in the candy bowl. As far as Seinfeld goes Craig is a mix of George Costanza the tightwad and crazy Kramer.

Dalene Perrin
(Front Office Manager)

Dalene is the first person you see when you come into the clinic and is usually the last one to tell you to “Have a nice day.” She oversees the day to day activities of the front office and helps to make sure all patients have a wonderful experience here at MOSS. Dalene loves to talk to patients and tries to make them all feel like family. Dalene is married to her highschool sweetheart of 35 years. She has 2 grown sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law who is the daughter she always wanted and a precious grandson who is the light of her life. In her downtime she enjoys crafting, baking, reading and spending time with her extended family and friends.

Character Traits

Dalene is like the mother of the clinic, in a good way. She is very sweet and does not want to impose on anyone which is why she is a dead ringer for Helen Seinfeld, Jerry’s mom. Throughout the series Helen she is always doing things for Jerry and never wants to be an inconvenience.

Tyla Hayley
(Director of Finance)

Tyla Haley is the Director of Finance for the clinic. She is responsible for leading the Finance department. She received her Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) certification with the National Health Association (NHA) through Weatherford College in 2015 and has been with the clinic since 2017. Tyla has been married to her wonderful husband Alex for 10 years and has an amazing, energetic 7-year old son, Jaxson. She enjoys being with family, watching her son play sports, and spending as much time as possible outside by the pool, having BBQ’s with family and friends.

Character Traits

Tyla works three days a week so she misses out on a lot of the office antics which is why she reminds me of Deena. She is a childhood friend of George Costanza who thinks he is mentally unstable, catching him in a series of bizarre situations. I feel as if Tyla is always seeing and hearing about odd situations that happen at the clinic — and probably thinks most of us are not quite so stable.

Joseph Marcum
(PT Assistant)

Joseph received his Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Amarillo College in 2015. He loves getting to work with patients of all kinds, but especially those with orthopedic conditions and athletes. Originally from Amarillo, Texas, he now lives in Weatherford and loves to spend his free time reading at local coffee shops, hiking, and going to church and bible studies. He also spends time at the batting cages, and is hoping to get back into playing baseball soon.

Character Traits

Joseph is an interesting character. As far as Seinfeld goes he is a combo of neurotic George Costanza and the rambling, unpredictable “George Steinbrenner” played by co-creator Larry David. Joseph frequently has odd and unusual stories about random facts. Just stop by and strike up a conversation, there is no telling where it will go.

Annabelle McCarey
(Financial Assistant)

AnnaBelle is a Financial Assistant in the Finance department at MOSS Rehabilitation Center. She received her Certified Billing Coding Specialist and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant with National Healthcare Association through Weatherford College in 2020. She has also served as a Physical Therapist Technician previously and has been with MOSS Rehabilitation Center for 2 ½ years. AnnaBelle is happily married with 4 children. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, cooking, going to the gym, and loves animals.

Character Trait

AnnaBelle is a hidden gem at MOSS. She is quiet at times but can definitely serve up a dose of harsh reality. Her Seinfeld character is similar to Leslie the low talker at times but once you get her going on a topic then more like Elaine for her strong opinions.

Kim Hilton
(Patient Service Rep)

Kimberly Hilton (we call her Kim) works in the front office. Kim is one of your first points of contact upon entering and leaving our facility, often answering the phone and setting schedules for new patients. Kim is a wife and a mother of 2 grown children, and is “Mamaw” to 3 grandsons. She loves her daily interaction with our patients and her co-workers. In her free time, Kim enjoys quality time with her family and always appreciates a good baseball game.

Character Traits

Well, Kim is definitely George Costanza. It appears we have several Georges in the office. Kim is George due to her frequently mentioning wanting to climb under the desk to take a nap (which George did when he worked for the Yankees) and her obsession with properly installing a roll of toilet paper (over the top)!

Shay Smith
(Patient Service Rep)

Shay is a girl with many assets to Moss Rehabilitation Center. Depending on where she’s needed you may find her on the floor working with the patients or working up front in the front office doing different tasks to help others out. Shay has been working for Moss for 2 years. Outside of the office Shay is a mom of 3 children. She loves playing with them outside, watching them play sports on their own, and keeping busy.

Character Traits

From Seinfeld she is Peggy, a co-worker of Elaine’s at J. Peterman Catalog who turns out to be a germaphobe. However there is a different side to Shay that is truly April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation. April Ludgate gives the appearance of not liking anything or anyone but deep down inside she has a soft spot for her husband and animals.

Annie Maxwell
(PT Technician)

Annie is determined in attaining her Physical Therapy Assistant licensure through Weatherford College, and MOSS Rehabilitation Center is an excellent opportunity in broadening her knowledge and experience in physical therapy. Annie loves anything to do with pugs, bubble tea because it is fun and different, and is an avid viewer of the television shows “Parks and Recreation” and “The Office.” She detests the heat of summer, and has stupendous spelling skills. Annie enjoys serving others and loves her job.

Character Traits

Annie reminds me of Leslie from Seinfeld. Leslie is the “low talker” that Kramer dates and during a dinner conversation with Jerry and Elaine she asks Jerry to wear her “puffy shirt” on a TV show. Jerry can’t hear her but agrees anyway. Annie is very sweet but can be very quiet so make sure you get your ears on when you talk to her.

Hunter Tompkins
(PT Technician)

Hunter is a Physical Therapy Technician for MOSS Rehab. Hunter loves working with the patients to make them better everyday and comes in with a positive attitude. The rooms are always brighter with him working. Hunter’s goofy personality puts everyone in a good mood. Outside of work you’ll catch him at the gym. Hunter loves powerlifting and poptarts!

Character Traits

Hunter is a combo but mainly reminds me of Elaine’s on again, off again boyfriend David Puddy. He has an unflappable demeanor and remains calm under pressure. Puddy is caring and sensitive but is often caught with a blank look on his face, I am sure because he is in deep thought. The other character is Izzy Mandelbaum - played by Lloyd Bridges- who likes to go around lifting weights.

Makayla Deweber
(PT Technician)

Makayla is a physical therapy technician at MOSS Rehabilitation. She is currently in school at the University of North Texas working on her Bachelors in Kinesiology. Her end goal is to go to physical therapy school and achieve her doctorate. She enjoys working in health care and helping people. In her spare time she is an avid fisherman and loves kayaking. Her favorite pastime is hanging with loved ones and her dogs.

Character Traits

Makayla reminds me of a character who only appeared in a few episodes who played a massage therapist. She has a warm and gentle character but doesn’t like to mix her business life with her personal life. She is agreeable but also very opinionated.
